So I’ve been sketching the cartoon’y faces in *gasp* a real paper sketchbook when bored. And thought hey, I wonder what I’d really like better – a digital painting version of this sketch. like I usually do them in Twisted Brush or vector based from Anime Studio (I still need to learn this program properly). Still playing around with both versions but here you go, the results so far:
The original sketch of the face, yeah it’s small. I draw tons of faces all over the page unless I think something is good, then I try a big version on its own, which is rare. Otherwise it’s just lots of small faces, half faces, eyes, lips, whatever… just practice stuff.

By popular demand — okay, because one person on MySpace asked in a comment so when’s the painting of this picture come out when I changed my picture (he’d liked my self portrait last year) — I bring you self portrait version 2.0. It looks better than the real picture of me that it’s based on! I should have kept editing it to look right, but if I look cuter in it than in the actual picture who am I to edit it more?

May still touch her up some, but I need some sleeeeeeeeeeep since, erm oops it’s 11 am and I do believe we’re going to IKEA tonight. Not even sure what I was thinking to be honest, she’s really just half a face from paper sketchbook because I have lots of random eyes, lips, half faces, etc in it, but liked this one especially tonight and I felt like drawing swirly things too.
Learning To Fly
I actually made this one awhile ago and was going to add more to it, but can’t figure out what, so it’s done. Was going to try to redo the face because it looks wrong and creepy, but I decided I like it looking that way, I think the angel is afraid of flying, so it works.
