Mama Cat

I was trying to draw on the computer… Princess Dutchie Cat told me NO! I am her mama cat! Cuddle! Attention! She climbed between my sweatshirt and t-shirt and went to sleep, so I couldn’t conveniently use my tablet. When she finally woke up and I went to draw again, she decided hey! I will help by trying to sit on that tablet thing in your lap, here lemme sit on your chest or on your lap on that thing! I took it as a sign, I need to draw something kitty’ish. She hasn’t said if she’s liked it or not. But she’s still hanging around snuggling me so I didn’t offend.

Random sketch from today. Bad pic of it from my phone… Brian’s response? “She’s cute” and “You should get a hair cut like that”

Was drawing a sunflower, couldn’t resist adding a face to it as I was too lazy to make the center of it look good. Now I’m kind of stuck on what to do with the rest but here’s what I have thus far…

Sunflower

So I’ve been sketching the cartoon’y faces in *gasp* a real paper sketchbook when bored. And thought hey, I wonder what I’d really like better – a digital painting version of this sketch. like I usually do them in Twisted Brush or vector based from Anime Studio (I still need to learn this program properly). Still playing around with both versions but here you go, the results so far:

The original sketch of the face, yeah it’s small. I draw tons of faces all over the page unless I think something is good, then I try a big version on its own, which is rare. Otherwise it’s just lots of small faces, half faces, eyes, lips, whatever… just practice stuff.

The sketch taken into Anime Studio and drawn over using that vector styled graphics program.

The sketch taken into Twisted Brush and redrawn over using digital pencils and paints.

I got bored and decided to play around the watercolor pencils mom bought me. Have been reading, so didn’t get inspired enough to break away from my book long enough to get very far. Did draw two versions of this girl One I play with the watercolor aspect. No picture of it as I’m still working on it, but here’s the… um… dry? version!

*EDIT*
Actually.. here’s the other one I’m also still working on where I actually used the water on the pencils.

Back to my usual cartoon’y girl sketches… sort of. Little different styles, slightly. Mostly stayed offline today due to the storms, but when I did finally get computer online, spent it drawing these. Now sleepy time, so figured I’d post them instead of trying to do any more work on them. And thank goodness the power actually never went off — new Vampire Diaries tonight. Still better safe than sorry, so computer got a break tonight. The world is ending, I swear — California is nothing like normal lately.

Peek-a-boo

She sees you! I’m sure I’ll touch it up more later someday, but eh… for today I was done.
