Almost didn’t sleep at all today, brain aliens so bad. Did *cough* nap from 4-9 (when Brian woke me up). Well I was in bed all day and my laptop is sort of used as a desktop machine so it’s not practical to move it around. That meant I couldn’t work on Misi’s painting. But I had to attempt to redeem myself for the bad video ArtLog
Or at least sketch to keep myself busy, here is the result:

This is the sketched version. But I didn’t stop there… Oh… no…

I decided she’d look better with a dark pen outline than she looked as a sketch. But alas, I couldn’t stop there either, nope! I did mention I couldn’t sleep right? For some reason she told me she wanted a Superman colour scheme and though some of my pens are dying, I pulled it off I think…

And with that, she is done. Well, mostly. I didn’t think ahead as I DID NOT plan to colour her. So her eyebrows left me a bit stuck. They look a little out of place and the blue background came out a little wrong, but otherwise I like her AND Brian likes her so I think I’m happy *nods* I was going for a comic book look though I can’t shade at all especially with pens and a very limited collection of them. Anyway because she wanted Superman’s colour scheme, she’s called “She’s Super”.
Materials used:
Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens. I could go through these so fast, I love them, feel free to send me a few dozen cases of them.
Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens. I have a few sets of these. In this case the Black superfine for the outline and a blue from landscape set for the blue background.
Her skin is coloured with Crayola Multicultural Colored Pencils . Yeah that’s right CRAYOLA. Did you think I can afford GOOD coloured pencils?
Have you seen what they cost? I think I have erm 2 ok ones, the rest are from a cheap set you’d buy your kids, if you have kids. But these are for a reason. I’m horrible at picking pencils for skin tones. So I figured I’d give these a shot as even Brian had a hmm moment when helping me pick a ok individual one for skin. And I LOVE these so shush.
And of course to start it all out Staedtler Lumograph Drawing and Sketching Pencils. I’ve got some pencils that came with an art set mom got me for Christmas, they suck. Just closing the sketch pad and storing it can at times make it smear. So I had to buy these, and I love them. Why are all of the good pens and pencils from Germany?
Ohh and of course… Blick Drawing Pads. Because Dick Blick rocks and is cheap, despite having a name that always makes Brian turn into Beavis and/or Butthead…

@Anne: Yeah I hadn’t planned to colour her, she was just a doodle but turned out good enough she screamed out for it! heh.
And thanks, supposed to be for me and mom the coffee addict, but she’s busy so I’m trying to fill it up some until she has more time too
